So, yeah, I don't like mushrooms. There's just something about the slimy firmness of the texture, and the earthy gagginess of the taste. Oh, and the thought of them growing in...well, whatever they grow in.
They're gross.
But man, New England has got some spectacular fungi! And since it's been so wet for the last 10 months, there's tons of them. Giant ones, ghost white and just begging to be kicked, ones with flat red tops, impossibly orange ones that are ruffly and not mushroom-like at all.
I may not like eating mushrooms, but I sure like photographing them.
Something so lowly, so gross in its domestic form, but so beautiful in the wild.
You could spend your whole life trying, and still not run out of beautiful things to discover. Even among mushrooms.

I want the one without the stem, upside down or whatever. The one with the watermark.........
ReplyDeleteI took pics of my photos in the kitchen that I need to post for you.
