Hallie has a post up featuring her favorite love songs, and invited others to do the same. Man. Music. I dunno. But I'll give it a try.
The following are songs that, for whatever reason, say "love" to me.
1. Al Green, "Let's Stay Together"
2. The Cure, "Lovesong"
3. R.E.M., Track 11
4. Andrew Peterson, "Dancing in the Minefields"
5. Indigo Girls, "Romeo and Juliet"
6. Decemberists, "June Hymn"
7. Otis Redding, "These Arms of Mine"
Go over to Hallie's for more love song fun.
Man, Cari. Are you a girl after my own heart or what? LOVE these!
ReplyDeleteBen Fold's, "Luckiest"
ReplyDeleteI love Lovesong. Have you heard the 311 version? Makes me feel like I'm on a beach at night somewhere and that is one of my favorite feelings. (Once I thought of that I had to look for it on Youtube and I discovered there is also a pretty awesome Adele cover of it as well)
ReplyDeleteUm, okay...
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of Andrew Peterson until today and now I'm all a sobby mess. That was so good. Oh my gosh. Awesome.
Let's Stay Together and Lovesong -- two of my favorites. Both almost make me cry every time I hear them. This looks fun, maybe I will play.
ReplyDeleteI really like Lovesong - it was one of my favorites as a teenager. And Al Green, that man knows how to be romantic!
ReplyDeleteI forgot about "Dancing in the Minefields"! I have only ever heard it on Christian Internet radio (I'm weird; I know), but I love how it's so sweet and lilting and youthful. Thank you for the reminder!
ReplyDeletelove it! I'm totally going to do one right now!
ReplyDeleteI love that we both have the Cure's "Lovesong" on our list. Great minds.... heehee
